Livingstone Community Centre (LCC) is a ministry of the Ivanhoe Baptist Church and offers affordable short courses, support programs, the Ivanhoe Makers Market, foodbank, hall hire opportunities plus more, to people within the community.
The Ivanhoe Baptist Church has been running for over 100 years and in December 1999 the centre was opened for the first time with its first program starting in February 2000.
LCC is a registered Neighbourhood House within the Banyule City Council.
Our mission
Our centre is a place for friendship, learning and belonging. Our mission statement is that the centre seeks to strengthen community in a safe and positive environment and to nurture the social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of all who participate.
Over time the centre has grown considerably with currently approximately 400 people per week passing through our doors to participate in everything from playgroup, choirs and language classes to art, craft, spirituality, health and well-being programs.

Meet our team
Craig - LCC President and IBC Pastor
Craig is the President of the Livingstone Community Centre and Pastor of Ivanhoe Baptist Church.
Rachael - Chairperson
Rachael is the Chair of the Committee of Management at the Livingstone Community Centre. She has been a member of the Ivanhoe Baptist Church since 2008 and has a professional background in clinical nursing and feminist research. She is really grateful for what is available every day at LCC. The diversity of the programs and the desire to respond to broad community needs is challenging and inspiring. Genevieve - Centre Manager
Genevieve joined Livingstone Community Centre (LCC) in 2018 and officially took on the role of Manager in February 2020 after relieving in the position for several months. Genevieve has a passion for people and community and strives to help build and strengthen LCC, and the wider, community, by offering a welcoming and inclusive place for people to gather and make connections.
Genevieve works Monday - Thursday.
Debra - Administration Assistant
Debra joined the team in June 2020. You will find her in the Office and around the Centre Tuesday - Friday. She’ll be very happy to assist you with your enquiries.
